CEC Announces Safe Sport & Events Coordinator

Climbing Escalade Canada is excited to announce the appointment of Sebastian Powell as our CEC Safe Sports & Events Coordinator. Sebastian’s contract will start on September 1, 2021, and will cover the entire 2021-2022 Season.

Sebastian brings to the role a history of highly relevant experience, organizing and running climbing competitions provincially, nationally and internationally since 2005. He is an experienced Jury President, Technical Delegate and Head Judge in Canada, as well as Technical Delegate and Judge at a continental level. Sebastian is passionate about building and growing a team of officials to support our regional and national events, while running competitions that offer a world-class experience for athletes, spectators and everyone involved in them.

“I am very happy to be back with CEC, and while my expertise is with running successful events, I look forward to supporting CEC’s effort in creating a safer and more inclusive competitive environment for all stakeholders” comments Sebastian Powell.

“We are thrilled to see Sebastian back with the organization. His wealth of knowledge and passion will be instrumental in achieving our goal of a safe return to competition” mentions Christiane Marceau, Executive Director.

The @ifsclimbing released, earlier this week, its 2023 Competition Calendar. There will be 12 World Cups in 10 countries, including six events in each of the sport climbing discipline: bouldering speed and lead.
